Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data the Habitax app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can to make the app work.
Who we are
Habitax is run by Peter Solly, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for your personal data. Contact: support@habitax.app.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why we need it | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| An account ID, and your email if you sign in with Apple | To keep your habits and answers linked to you, and to send charge reminders and receipts | Contract |
| Your habit names, your daily Yes or No answers and when you gave them | To work out misses and show your streaks and totals | Contract |
| Monthly charge amounts and donation records | To charge you correctly and show where your money went | Contract, and legal obligation (tax records) |
| A push token for your device | To show the morning question on your lock screen and send the 10am reminder | Contract |
| Messages you send us | To answer you | Legitimate interests |
We never see or store your full card number. Card details go straight to Stripe, our payment provider, and we only get a reference to the card plus its brand and last four digits.
We don't use advertising trackers, we don't sell your data, and we don't use your data to build profiles for marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a few providers to run Habitax. They process data only on our instructions.
- Supabase stores your account, habits and answers.
- Stripe stores your card and processes charges. Stripe is also a controller for some data it needs for fraud prevention and legal reasons; see stripe.com/gb/privacy.
- Apple delivers notifications and Live Activities, handles Sign in with Apple, and bills Premium subscriptions.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and forwards email sent to support@habitax.app.
We tell the charities we donate to the total amount we're giving them. We don't share your name or details with them.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, for example in the US. Where they do, they're covered by the UK's adequacy regulations or by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your habits and answers are kept while you have an account. They're deleted within 30 days of you deleting your account.
- Charge and donation records are kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year, because UK tax law requires it.
- Support emails are kept for 2 years.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to how we use it. Email support@habitax.app and we'll reply within one month. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Habitax involves real payments, so it's only for people aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies or analytics. Cloudflare keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
